Administrative/operations recommendations identify operational issues that, if remedied, may improve finding, accessing and/or utilizing government programs by Albertans.  Recommendations are provided in writing to the relevant Deputy Minister(s) for consideration. 

We have made the following recommendations:

 

  • Recommendation to clarify the registration process for Alberta Blue Cross Coverage for Seniors Program
  • Recommendation to clarify information about the Direct to Tenant Rent Supplement program application process, wait times and funding
  • Recommendation to review, clarify and streamline appeal processes for benefit programs in the Ministry of Seniors and Housing
  • Recommendation to review and update Protection for Persons in Care outdated web content, contact information and fact sheets
  • Recommendation to clarify documentation around the insurance requirements for the Seniors Home Adaptation and Repair Program (SHARP) loan/grant application
  • Recommendation to review process for stopping seniors financial benefits after mail is returned as undeliverable

 
Recommendations and responses will be available when the Deputy Minister(s) have reviewed and provided a response.
