Sources to support social interaction: Life Long Learning

The Edmonton Lifelong Learners Association (ELLA) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization founded in 2001 to provide lifelong learning to adults 50+. ELLA partners with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension, to offer an annual 3-week Spring Session.

Edmonton’s MacEwan University’s Minerva Senior Studies Institute is targeted to adults 50 years and older. Information and courses at Minerva are part of the School of Continuing Education designed to enhance seniors’ intellectual pursuits that enrich their lives.

The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension provides courses for professional development or personal enrichment.

The University of Calgary waives tuition fees for seniors for undergraduate, bachelor level courses. Several programs and courses are offered.
